By the way. I shut the motor off, while the cycle is in low gear and the clutch is disengaged, with a foot movement to the kick stand. Then I let out the clutch and dismount (remembering to remove the ignition key, which I quick clip to my other keys). I have not been getting a back kick nor diesel on with this method of shut down. Can't explain why, but it works.
I use to drive up in low--pull the clutch lever in ---idle down and then let the clutch out while having the breaks locked and simply let the motor stall!
I park in low gear, to prevent the cycle from rolling off of the stand.
Also: always remove the ignition key.
I have my switch fixed so that either position is off (no break parking light--I cut the green wire to the switch).
